The ASIU-E and the newer GPCU, can be supplied with custom hardware interfaces.  along with the standard interfaces.

Custom interfaces can be defined and used in the conversions. Past customer-defined interfaces have included  : Power and Logic level relays controlled by data from standard interfaces, Engine Torque data (C-130 program), 2-Channel Cockpit Audio, Resolvers, Variable DC and AC voltage outputs, among other custom interfaces.  

Standard Interfaces Include:

MIL-STD-1553 (BC/RT/BM), ARINC-429/575/561, CAN, AeroCAN, Ethernet, Discrete Inputs and Outputs, RS-232, RS-422, and A/D.

The ASIU-E and the newer GPCU, can be supplied with custom firmware to operate between any combination of interfaces available along with custom interfaces per your specification. Data is converted and moved between the different interfaces in real-time. Data from different interfaces can be combined and arithmetic and logical operations as well as bit/byte/word manipulations can be performed on the data in all directions in real-time. It is the most powerful, multi-protocol converter on the market.
